Thoughts and a Writing Challenge

Here’s a quote that came into my email. This really made me think. I like quotes that make you think. I try to ponder on thoughts such as this and I always come up with something different. I don’t know about other people but what comes to my mind as I read this will be different than what would have come to my mind yesterday. I don’t think this is strange but maybe it is. It is the same when I look at a picture. No matter what it is, I see different things every time I look at a picture. I never get tired of looking at the same picture or reading the same thing over and over.
I think it would be neat to take the same picture and write about it for seven days straight but each day writing something different. I will have to try this. Maybe this should be a writing challenge to myself and others. I think I am going to find a picture and glue it into my journal and try this. I will try to write different things and use different styles of prose and poetry. If other people read this and would like to try it, I would love to see what they come up with.

That’s an interesting observation. I think it’s because each day brings with it its own challenges and emotions depending upon what we experience.
I have written all my life and have always kept a journal long before we ever heard the word blog, which dates back to when I ws about 14 or 15 years old. It’s amazing to look back and read teh thoughts of feelings I had at that age – it was as I was reading about someone else!
I haven’t been doing much writing lately – never enough time it seems, but I did start up my own blog again on my website. I’ve only made one entry so far, but it’s a start. I belong to so many groups and am involved with so many things, I’ve had to cut back on some stuff and I miss writing fiction, poetry and prose and non-fiction. Writing is from the soul, I believe. We let ourselves express many things we probably could never voice out loud.
I’d love to participate but I can’t promise that. However, I think your challenge is a good one, very interesting and I hope that people will take it on.”
